Seal supports three common export paths:
  • Print Preview for a controlled, human-readable copy of an entity.
  • Download data for a ZIP file containing structured entity data.
  • CSV export for query results and tables.

Controlled copies

Use Print Preview when you need a readable copy of a document, record, or procedure for review, audit, or external sharing.
  1. Open the entity.
  2. Open the three-dot menu in the entity toolbar.
  3. Select Print Preview.
  4. Review the generated print view.
  5. Select Print and use your browser print dialog to print or save as PDF.
Print Preview is available for entities with page content. It uses the same document content as the entity page and includes a controlled-copy header with the entity title, version, status, “Confidential” label, page number, print timestamp, and user email. If your organisation has a logo configured, it is included in the print metadata. Drafts are watermarked DRAFT. Published versions that are not the active version are watermarked NON ACTIVE.

Include extra sections

The print toolbar includes a Sections menu. Use it to include:
  • Fields - a summary table of field values.
  • Version history - previous versions and publication details.
  • Audit log - entity audit trail entries up to the printed version.
These sections are loaded into the preview before printing so the final PDF contains the same content you reviewed.

Control page breaks

Use the Page break block in the document editor to force content onto a new page. The print preview also shows page-break guides so you can check where long content will split before printing.

Download data

Use Download data when you need machine-readable data rather than a human-readable copy.
  1. Open the entity.
  2. Open the three-dot menu in the entity toolbar.
  3. Select Download data.
Seal downloads a ZIP file containing:
  • the entity JSON snapshot
  • the audit log as JSON
  • a fields summary CSV
  • separate CSV files for reference fields rendered as tables, when those tables contain rows

CSV exports

From the Query page, export query results as CSV when you need a spreadsheet-friendly list of entities. Reference tables and submitted tables can also be exported as CSV from their table menus where available.

Expiry dates

Organisation admins can set a PDF export expiry period in organisation settings. When configured, exported print copies show an expiry date in the print metadata. Leave the setting empty to omit expiry dates.
